"This was needed to get a new IBM laptop purchased with Vista running better under XP. Sent to Micro$oft site by Lenovo, the driver is described by M$ but not actually provided. Thank you!"

"Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture driver. In some cases this needs to be installed BEFORE installing the High Definition Audio drivers. If you have installed the HDA and discover it still doesn't work, uninstall the (HDA) sound drivers, install the UAA driver, reboot and install the (HDA) audio drivers again. Reboot and all should be right with the world or at least i
