ESS DOES make some modems, although even their web pages don't really claim that. Their site has NO modem drivers to d/l, although it will point you to the Microsoft HCL to find a driver (generic) that should work. In order to get this driver to work better I had to append s95=47 to the init string, this is making my connect read 115200 but I do beleive the modem is running a bit faster now, this string is (from what I have been told) to enable compression.
