OK, driver WORKS, BUT it is ONLY the driver... It will make sound come out of your speakers but you do not get ANY of the cooler stuff like 4 speaker suport or other cool stuff, Creative Labs sux cuz it wont let you get the drivers from them, The full 40 megs of files can be D/L from

"Dude, thanks a million to you for taking the time to post this driver. I have spent a great deal of time trying to install this stupid card and nothing else had worked. The card is a CT 4830 ( I guess this makes it a Sound Blaster Live! Value."

"Your a star...looked for ages for these all though the CL site. Guess CL doesn't think anyone would want their kit second hand and ever need drivers...!"

"This driver is great.... You posted it will only get you sound and not the cool stuff like 4-speaker Support!! That is correct!!! What I did was I downloaded this driver that works great and went to www.sblive.com and finished with there Live Wire version 3.0 that comes with Live-Updates and all the cool stuff like the 4-speaker Support and ALL THE PLUG-INS... You can also

"Livewire works very well with the sblive and has many features but because Creative's Website sux and makes you run around in circles trying to download it, It is impossible to download!"

How to Update Creative SB Live! SB16 Emulation Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

How to Open Device Manager

  • In Windows 11, Windows 10 & Windows 8.1, right-click the Start menu and select Device Manager

  • In Windows 8, swipe up from the bottom, or right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose "All Apps" -> swipe or scroll right and choose "Control Panel" (under Windows System section) -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

  • In Windows 7, click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

  • In Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager

  • In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
