"i will wait to use later. The instructions made me face either a good install, or a damage to my DVD drive under a number of circumstances. Didn't dare install."

"I needed a Windows driver for the DVD drive NOT a firware update. Windows is not recognizing this drive as a DVD drive, its seeing it a CD drive so the Windows driver needs to be updated (BIOS recognizes it correctly therefore no firmware update is needed).I believe that searching for a driver should return a driver not firmware otherwise I would do a search for firmware.
