Additional Notes

The 1210P is not a normal scanner but the win95 scan utility WILL WORK in XP. First tell XP to install the UMAX 610P driver that it ships with. Now change the parallel port (LPT1) settings to EPP with 'Legacy support for PnP' ON and 'use any IRQ assigned to port' ON. With the scanner connected and powered on (no switch of course) Reboot XP. Install the Scan Utility from the setup.exe file and the scanner should be useable. NOTE the 1210P does not appear in XPs list of scanners but the "1210P-32" is available as a TWAIN device in all TWAIN aware applications and selecting this will operate the scanner. Do not select the WIA 610P scanner which will appear in XPs list (XP will, correctly, report this as not found). Hope this is useful.
