"This is a "fix" not a driver. My original disk has stopped working and the fix asks me to insert it!"

"I'm going from a a Windows 98 system to a XP Pro system. Following install of drivers, the old error message is replaced by "The scanner is not connected. Please check the cable". I went onto my old Windows98 partition and the scanner worked fine.

(and I did rename the fixwinx1.exe file as suggested)"

"No matter what I tried I couldn't get this to work. The only way I can get my scanner to operate is to install WIN 2000 first install the driver off theCD then up grade to WIN XP and every thing then is tickety boo."

Without doing this, on restarting windows, a message appears 'file missing' or something similar!. This fixes that problem. Running the 'fixwinxp.exe' file will then allow you to install drivers from original disk in your C

"This is no good if your installation CD doesn't have Win2k drivers on it - you're wasting your time trying with Win98."

"I tried this file first but without any success then - FixWinX1.exe partially solved the problem. It allowed the scanner to be recognised but the final message was that there maybe problems. Sure enough in device manager there was a yellow !

"A big thanks to whoever produced this. There was some weirdness following the file-installation phase, but after reboot I plugged in the scanner and XP found its drivers. I was able to take scans from Corel Photopaint just like before (I've only ever used it through TWAIN, so I cannot say whether the moron panel works)."
