"Two key things - U must change the default IDE/ATA Control in XP PRO which defaults to DMA back to PIO only. Make sure you select the correct device 0 or 1 (Usually 1)and use icon 1 in the loader to load the firmware update. It wont load if you do not have the corrcet DVD Rom to match the firmware so at least that is comforting.

"don't know yet if it is the driver or the dvd rom the unit simply does not work anymore,,,did play one movie before the driver install,,,just works as a cd rom now oh well"

"Completely ruined my drive. It made it so I can't even boot my system with it connected to re-flash the drive. So I baiscally have a dead drive. Thanks a lot moron."
