"thanks a lot, Mgz for v6.13.10.4143 of the CS4299 audio drivers.

worked great on my HP Pavilion 7840 computer, even though I had to click on the "Continue Anyway" button to complete the driver installation since these drivers are not digitally signed by Microsoft. At least the CS4299 build 4143 drivers were very stable.

rivers won't work on his HP XE748 computer with the Win98se OS. My HP 7840 machine uses a motherboard similar to the XE748 model. I read in the CS4299 build 4143 readme file that these drivers won't work under Win9x OSes, guess that includes Win98se. So he might want to upgrade to either Win2000 or XP and then try out the CS4299 v6.13.10.4143 drivers.

I definitely recommend using this driver, especially if you have used an earlier build of the CS4299 driver like 6.13.10.4140 or older."

"Fixes constant feedback problem in Sound Recorder. CD-Audio cable is still sensitive to mouse at high volume level, but that is because of poor insulation and/or a CD-ROM Drive problem. Muting CD-Audio as needed always fixes that."
