"I tried to use this device driver in Windows XP environment, but it does not work very well. Once the settings have been made for a modem connection to this device, they sre lost almost immediately, making the modem unusable. Maybe it works on another device, but I have no use for it. Sorry."

"Fan-bloody-tastic. I bought a cable for my Nokia 3100 for PC Connectivity and the driver for the Prolific cable was insufficient for Windows XP Professional. It kept asking for a file that was not existent on my system or on or in the driver and it frustrated me. I used this driver and it installed beautifully. Thanks for offering it. It works a treat."

"Used this for a PC USB to Sony Ericsson T68/T610 Data Cable.

No drivers with my purchase and no markings/model no on the cable itself (other than CSB CABLE). Tried SE DCU10-11 drivers but did not work!

XP attempt to troubleshoot failed hardware gave me hint that the hardware was actually 'Prolific' with specific Hardware ID which led me here.

"My USB/Serial cable has helped a lot with my sub-notebooks. But they're W98. The drivers it came with would NOT work on XP. Attempts to contact Prolific... nada. But this entry in the dbase described teh cable exactly so I tried it. Installation smooth (needed a reboot which is a pain for XP). Now to try uploading some data to my GPS...

"Am not a techie, have a Prolific USB to serial converter that does not run on XP because of driver probs - downloaded this file but am unable to get it to install - what exactly do I need to do please? I have tried to uninstall the original drivers and then refer to the new file when installing again but it comes up with an error that 'the name is already in use as either
