"I tried using this conexant SoftK56 modem driver hoping this is XP compatible but never work with my pc even uninstalling the default driver and install this driver."

"Successfully installed on WinXP Pro but once you get it, try to updated the driver and have it automatically search for the latest driver on the net - worked for me.

"Win XP does not have a driver for Generic SoftK56 Modem and the Modem CD has drivers for Win 98/ME/2000. So I downloaded softk556 zip file. Since, some have problem installing it, I share my experience - Leave Best Fax Modem, which is automatically installed by WinXp as it is. - Unzip the Modem driver and save all its files in a new folder, say Generic SoftK56. - In D
