"I had it working once before, but something happened and it stopped working. Now, everytime i try to reinstall it, it won't work. I don't know if I'm following directions right or what, but this is a total drag. good luck getting this one to work. Probably have to find all the dll's and delete them, then do a clean install, but i'm too lazy to do that. ;) ~KW"

"I'm not able to get it working either. I've tried installing 3 times, following the instructions exactly. I am getting the error that no drivers are installed. I'm thinking of picking through the registry...maybe something got left behind. Can anyone help? Thanks."

Hi...would anyone be able, or so generous asto help me obtain the software file (fbdirect.exe -i think) for this scanner? Its a pre-owned scanner not positive ifiteven works and thecompany wants $10 just for shippin and handling of thedisk...it would be appreciated agreatdeal. THANKS!

"Installed as per instructions and works on XP service pack 1.

Works with paperport deluxe 6.1.

Had to change bios Parallel mode to ECP from EPP (always check 1st).

Have only run short period so cannot comment on stability."

"I followed the instructions and it works great (with XP). I am using ArcSoft PhotoImpression instead of paperport 8.0 or photoimpact. PhotoImpression works fine. Thank you for sparing me the need to throw my scanner out the window."

"if you don't have paperport 8.0 ulead photoimpact works good and they offer a 30 day trial. the buttons on scanner are not recognized, but at least it scans via fbdirect.exe"

"This worked a treat. Why oh why do people post saying something doesn't work, when it obviously does... just not for *them*. Just because you can't get a driver working, don't presume the driver is at fault... it's probably your PC config. If I hadn't ignored your comment I would have missed out on a perfectly good driver!"

"i used the german version of Paperport. Do you think that it is possible to do the same, but with the german 5300.exe (5300g.exe)? till now, Paerport 8.0 des not accept the buttoms at the scanner."
