"even if you dont know whwre your drive is located, the exec checks the i8d of the drive beeing flashed !

if not sony ,no flash , otherwise your dvd-rw would be busted ...

I got a similiar on from a czech site, which changes HP 8100 to sony crx, maybe i wil post it, because the hp8100 is not compatible at all ..."

"we have a winner here! now my cd-rw can read audio and data disks, writes like it should, but there is one problem...it is not listed as a cd-rw when i open "my computer". it is listed as a cd drive. but that's a small thing overall....i think there is an update 2 fix that...beyond that...this driver is da bomb!"

"Works great with windows 2000 and a Dell XPST450 box. Determined the ide bus information from the system, booted into dos and installed it no problem from DOS. Thanks very much"

"Ok guys, I've dl the file and unzipped it. Booted in real DOS mode. Now im lost. I know it's a Secondary drive but thats about it. Do I run updcrx21 from a floppy or from C \ directory? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated."

"Thanks to Peter Hallberg (he assisted me with an Email) the driver works great. I first determined slave/master primary/secondary and then used paramatersetting updcrx21 100E_10N.bin /AT /2 /S Important one should be in real DOS-mode."

"It works, Thank You Peter. I searched everywhere in vain for this driver, including Sony and Dell's sites. Since this is a firmware update, the hardest part is to figure out whether my CDRW is a primary/secondary and master/slave drive. Notes for other users, make sure you re-boot your PC to DOS mode, and NOT window dos. Create a DOS bootable diskette if you have problem.&

"I'm running win2k and this driver doesn't seem to do anything. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Everytime it says "Drive_In_Use" or something like that... It would be nice to be able to burn 80 minute cds again."
