o throw it away like i did. download the new stuff. the version of mouse suite that i have is - Mouse Suite 1.72 M - i tried to download it tonite but i couldn't. the servers must be slow or off line. the first step after you have the software is to RIGHT CLICK on my computer and go to properties. go to the hardware tab. go to device manager. i window will pop up and it will show your computer devices ( mouse, keyboard, so on.) click on mice and other pointing devices. it should show somthing like ps2 pointing device or hid compliant device. make sure that you select the right one because i also have other stuff that shows up here that i don't want to modify (gamepads, etc.) RIGHT CLICK on ps2 pointing device and go to properties. go to the driver tab. you want to UNinstall this device. i am not sure if this step is necessary but it makes sense to me to uninstall everything so you can start from scratch. it will ask you if you want to reboot automatically. click NO or CANCEL. turn off your computer manually. after your computer is turned off unplug your old mouse and plug in your 19k2002 into a usb port. make sure that you plug your 19k2002 into a usb port directly connected to your computer and not a usb hub. that way you can avoid a problem if your usb hub is not working. i have heard that this mouse can not be plugged into a ps2 port and work with the mouse suite software. i don't know if this is true, but let's get this thing working before we go and test other suff, um?? ok, recap. we got the old stuff deleted. we got the old mouse (if there was one) unplugged and the new mouse in a usb port that is directly in back of the computer. next step, fire up the computer. ok after windows boots up your mouse will not work right away. this is because your computer is finding the driver for your mouse. xp supplies the driver you supply the software that takes advantage of the extra features and buttons. it should find it as a hid (human interface device)compliant mouse. after it finds it you will be able to move the mouse. this is a good thing. double click on the software that you downloaded from micro website. it will ask you to unzip it to your desktop. do this. it will make a folder on your desktop called "Mouse Suite XP". double click on the folder and in it you will find more folders and an icon called setup. click setup and select the proper settings, such as right side of the keyboard and few other things. make sure that you select usb port instead of ps2. after you install the software you should see a little mouse down by the clock. that is the program running that will let you take advantage of the features of the mouse. double click it and you will have more options than you know what to do with. once again, the version that i downloaded from the website is - 1.72M - the XP Version. www.mic-innovations.com if anybody has any questions drop me a line and i will be happy to help. this is not an straight forward install as it should be. i think it is pretty bad that people have to go to random people on chat boards to find answers to install stuff. thank God there is chat boards.
