"This driver includes an installation file necessary for the monitor to perform without noticible flicker. The display definitions native to Win98SE do not provide the necessary configurations. It is possible to delete the unused definitions, found in %windows\system\COLOR\ to reduce the installed size.

The Windows Device Manager displays two instances of the monitor,

which needed to be "updated" by selecting the %windows\system\COLOR\ directory. This changes the name of the component to that of your monitor. Apparently only one of these need be "updated", but I "updated" both.

I noted that my 445xi could run at 100 Hz prior to installation, but would flicker at all rates. After installation, max. rate was 90 Hz, but substantially less flicker. Running the "installation" (or executable) is apparently necessary.

The system accepted the new definitions after about 2 re-boots. This is typical of monitor definitions in Windows.
