"Worked like a dream, once I had changed the BIOS to run the parallel port in EPP mode. Didn't need to do that when running Win 98 SE. Very pleased!"

"When I installed the driver on XP/pro it worked fine. After many O.S. updates it now does not work. Reinstall doesn't help."

"XP with SP2...initially scanned documents were shifted out of place. Changed my port setting in cmos to normal intstead of epp on old p4 mb.

Works 95% of the time. The odd time I get one shifted."

"Deinstall all old scanner drivers and Plustek programs as admin.

After installation the scanner plug-in should work perfectly with Windows XP Pro (SPP only) applications.

Other (non-admin) users may have problems with colours, prescan mode, resolution ...

"Accessed the scanner OK but the only readable image was at 100% and at 100dpi. The rest of the images broke up.

Also it caused an error in Photoshop that locked the Twain driver out after the first scan."

"This driver is the right one for the 9630p optic pro . be sure to reboot your system as soon as the install is done.you have to use microsoft word or some other application to use the scanner.Remember this is just a driver and not a utility,you have to get your own utility to scan eg. hp scanner utility is pretty kool,"

"It's a good driver and works -- I know because I submitted it here first (but never got the credit for it). The only thing that it is lacking is an XP compliant installation (.inf) file, so that it can be included amongst the other hardware in the Device Manager list. But it's a lot better than nothing and I'm glad it's been of use to a lot of people."

"I tried installing this software on three machines all running the same version of Windows XP Professional. One was a test machine where I try to work out bugs befoe installing on the other two machines on my home network. Strangely, the test machine was an IBM Aptiva 133 with 128 mbs of RAM and XP actually ran fairly well although slowly. The driver installed properly

"downloaded and ran setup, didnt install driver, rebooted - nothing, not found in add hardware auto., ie no listing for plustek, tried manually and xp cant find .inf file when told to look in the folder i saved it to. doesnt seem to work at all"

"Excellent driver. I did not believe it would work but it does.

I am surprise that the vendor does not supply this driver. I have been looking for it since last year. I got onto this website from PC Utilities Magazine.

"Tried lots of drivers. DLL still missing on my XP. Scanner worked fine under Windows98 on the same system. does not uninstall properly. Definitely think will have to be environment unfriendly replacing working device OK for my needs, make sure not from same company because of that poor support"

"Tried this(have XP Home) - worked OK the first time - although a couple of hitches adjusting the settings. Would not detect scanner connection for EPP - only SPP. Worked fine first night, tried next morning- either black, colours all over, or message "I/O connection failure or disk full". Re-verified connection - would scan, but picture a mess. "Hi Paul install a shortcut to the directory "scanner" inside the directory "Windows" and then use paint shop Pro -> File -> Aquire or a program like simpleOCR (freeware) to use the scanner Enjoy"

"Having the same problem as John, Scanned pic's is all over the place some areas colour is reversed. Blank areas have shaded blocks of various colours. Looks nice but useless!"

"If you are getting the message "system destroyed or it hasn't been installed properly" try just downloading the free EasyScan program and it will run your scanner just fine. Just do a search for EasyScan and you will find a number of sites to download it free"

"Wow, this is great!! I can finally upgrade my old Win98 machine. I installed this on my XP Pro system, ran MS Office Doc Scanning, after a few minutes for the app. to test the scanner compatibility, it worked great!!! I had tried other versions on my Win2k machine but nothing worked...great job!"

"Unzipped, Installed, Changed BIOS, but I still get the "Scanner DLL not found". I even went through my computer and deleted all of the previous attempts. When I "Select Source" it shows the "Plustek 32-bit Source 4.0 (32-32)", I select it, the Aquire Scan error says, "Program was unable to find your scanner." How can I tell the software that my scanner is connected to LTP3

"This is a common problem. It appears that the program is corrupt. You usually can get the setup program to run correctly if you place the files in the root of c . This is the most reliable way to overcome this problem, although sometimes removing the spaces from the directory name works too."
