"This driver install fine under Windows XP on an HP Pavilion 6470Z with a RipTide PC80079 Rev C modem/fax/game/audio device (may possibly be called an All in One Modem, Fax, Audio, Game).

"This driver did not work for the HP pavilion 6683 after removing all HP stuff and installing a full version of Win98se (win did not reconize the modem) try the win98.zip instead, it worked for me, it's a much smaller file to download as well."

"Works pretty good, sound card drivers may already be present on Windows XP Pro systems, but this file is needed for the modem to work. Also placed this device in another system (non HP) and it still worked fine."

I put in a new NetComm modem ($AUS 40) which XP did recognise. "BFG hit the nail on the head with this one. Niether Micro$oft or HP was willing to help with this driver. They kept saying it's a "no-go".Have XP Pro installed on a HP Pavilion 4550Z (previous OS WinMe), with a Rockwell HCF 56K Data Fax PCI Modem. Loaded this driver package through hardware add. Perfect install into system32 folder. Up and running within 5 minutes. Thanks

"This driver is the key if you're upgrading from WIN98 to XP and you have one of these unique combined sound cards and modems that HP installed in its Pavillion models. XP will post a yellow question mark in device manager calling it an unknown communications device. This driver will make your modem work again. "BFG, you are my hero. That driver worked perfectly with my HP Pavilion 6545C with Win XP Pro. After I upgraded to XP, the modem did not work at all, but worked fine after I installed it through the device manager by right-clicking on the device, going to properties, clicking reinstall driver, and pointing to the folder I unzipped. My modem wasn't recognised as a modem, but

"Great. Thanks for a good research job to get this driver posted here. I have been 3 days researching for the correct driver to my modem work after upgrade to Windows XP Pro. I have an HP Pavilion 8675 (French Model), and the modem has the 2 Conexant chips on it, plus the id on it reads Riptide World International Sound Card Modem PC ASSY NO. 90083 (made in Puerto Rico)

"Awesome! After upgrading my brothers PC to XP, it lost the modem driver, I tried everything including generic drivers and even the ones off the recovery CD for win2k and none would work. This one worked a treat though. I couldnt actually download it from here, but i searched for the filename on HP, and the driver was availble on the North American site. Thanks a lot"
