"Not worked. The programs find the scanner, it scans as well, but only below 150 dpi (the colors are not true in this case either, but they can be corrected in a photo editing program). Grayscale works up to 150 dpi.

Under Win98 the scanner works perfectly in any dpi, so this driver is bad."

"YES! finally succes, though not with this program. You people have to go to www.scanny.de/ then go to downloads - scanner software follow the instructions (it's in German, but even I could make out what to do, or else you use babelfish.altavista.com/) and you'll be fine. The software they have actually worked, unlike many other drivers I tried."

"YOu may need to alter the parallel port setting in the BIOS - with this set to ECP, and the scanner utility setting set to SPP, I was at least able to scan pictures, though these were far from perfect. I tried setting the parallel port to EPP, Normal, but got the 'can't find Scanner DLL' message."

"Works with XP and doesn't crash or anything, but occasionally (maybe 1 in 3 attempts) the scan comes out with the alignment of the colors wrong. Seems to happen when the scanner has to stop halfway through. In the end I gave up and bought a new scanner that supports WinXP, but I did make useful scans with this driver by trying and retrying until it came out right."

"It works under W2K with greyscale good, bad in color and under XP SP2 fails - no scanner finding. The install package primax4800.exe is identical as c4824nt.exe for W2k dedicated."

"I use a Network Scanny FB308C that equals a Primax Colerado Direct 30 bit FCC:EMJFB308C that I also posses (both 300dpi optical 4800dpi enhanced, parallel port scanners)

I had problems with most drivers I downloaded for using this with XPpro sp2. The sources are all based on the old WIN95/98/NT drivers. Some have modified name or date/timestamp. As fas as I found there

"Installing it on win XP SP2, when you start the .exe it advert about the lack of 1 .dll.

If you try to uninstall it, you'll have problems.
