"good driver, works with the windows vista business sp2, one problem: you can't turn the CMSS of which is a big problem. Would be handy if you could turn it of.

"I have tried with windows vista 64bits and it says that it is not a 64bits driver.

I believe that I will have to buy a new sound card from another manufacturer."

"I've just unzipped the folder but thats it - there's no set up file or anything. I'll re-read your notes, however if there's a solution that i've missed then please let me know; you have no idea how happy i was when i found this driver and found my old external audio device!

"Tried this, but always (despite uninstalling the previous driver, and getting rid of the yellow exclamation mark) get told that the best driver is already installed. (I'd previously installed from the original Creative CD using XP mode.) If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, please post here.

"Brilliant. Vista Home Premium, SP1, works a treat without a restart. Yet to see if I get the BSOD too, but worth the effort turning the card off for the functionaltiy!"

The Extigy worked fine with Vista's default USB Audio Driver.

It failed to start after Vista ScvPk1 upgrade.

My Extigy started immediately after installing this driver with Vista SvcPk1.

I am VERY HAPPY!!!

"My system is vista sp1.

SB Extigy will only work with an older version of USBAUDIO.sys (02.11.2006), not with USBAUDIO.sys sp1 (21.01.2008). Driver (sbext.inf_90a9513d.zip) installs good. After restart vista I had a bluesreen. Restart with last working version reinstalled the MS driver for SB Extigy. A driverupdate (sbext.inf_90a9513d.zip) failed with: "Das Klassen

"Dude.. Thanx a million. It works. only the thing is.. CMSS light is alwais up and I cant change it to turn down or up. that button not working.

Yes its true BSOD is coming but its ONLY coming when I keep the Sound card turn ON when the system starts.

Solution is to Turn the sound card on later while after the Vista boot properly.

"nice try from the developer but even it's gone right clearly and worked fine (even the line-in input) after restart i got a BSOD so maybe the solution for the Extigy/Vista won't be so easy to resolve..."

"Acually this driver did NOT work well with Vista SP-1.

I didn't realize that CMSS is always on and MUST always be on with this driver. You can't turn off CMSS once pluged in. You cannot power up the Extigy if USB-connected. Extigy's power-up sequence turns CMSS on an off which produces the "BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH".

"Although there is a small caveat in installing the drriver it works in 5.1 in Windws 7, and even AC3 passthrugh is working!

When you first plug in the Extigy windws will automatically install generic drivers fr the card. You need to g in the device manager and delete the device, and this is the imprtant part, delete the drivers when asked. Then in the action menu re-d

"Hello,

This driver did not work for me on Vista64. Also tried the trick that copies "old" driver USBAUDIO.sys (02.11.2006) but just worked after 1st reboot. Time to make art from usless hardware or maybe we can help the author to get it working under x64 architecture."

"Ok! First, I have to thank the developer for this... I was incredibly frustrated trying to get my extigy to work with Vista. I took a while for me to manually install the driver (but that was my fault not reading the prompts correctly).
