"I know it seems odd saying poor install with apparently good stability and working well, but the problem with this "driver" is this: It's only the first disk of the HP install set and won't do anything without more disks.

I cheated by changing the number at the end of the "driver" (eg. lj153en1 to lj153en2 etc) before popping back to the ftp site -

you can get more disks this way. I managed to install the 3100 on a win95 system with 8 disks, but minus the OCR software.

If it wasn't for the fact I've only got dialup and needed to get the job done in a hurry I'd have gone for the big download. It'd have been nice if it had said this - but then dumb of me for not twigging the end number. Presume all of this applies to the other language versions posted. So can't really recommend unless you need a quick fix."
