"this driver works well (with no sound) on kernel 2.2.4, but doesn't work on kernel 2.4.10 and above, it writes some error after the compilation. there's a driver that look the same on www.medres.ch/~jstifter/linux/pctel.html everything is fine on the installation proccess but when trying to use the modem it replies no response from modem. it seems the driver need some sort

"The version of the kernel is checked before installing the driver and there 's a file in C language(ptmodule.c) that should be used to eliminate this problem of version compatibility. I'm trying to modify this file and the Makefile to let the driver be installed on a Mandrake 7 linux version. Hope it 'll work soon... I'm trying to modify"
