"Driver was listed as suitable for Windows XP. Thankfully I took the precaution of downloading it to a floppy and read the readme file but before unzipping saw it states it is for MS Windows 2000/NT 4.0 with no mention of XP. I'm not willing to risk installing on my new XP system incase it has a detrimental effect"

"ok i'll correct myself - it did work breifly for xp - then cut out - then suddenly worked again........

so i went to the official cannon website and they said

"This device is not compatible with Windows XP."

"Limited functionality under Windows XP may be possible by using the Windows 2000 driver v 2.20"

it installed fine and printed the test page.....

so as far as i know it works for the Cannon BJC5100 on win XP"
