"While installing Intel's Motherboard drivers for the 865PERL, a message came up (at about 90% complete) that the file usbehci.sys was missing from c:\windows\temp. I downloaded and copied the file there and told it to retry. It warned me the driver wasn't certified. I told it to continue anyway. It did so and finished the installation perfectly. One thing it found was

"The file usbehci.sys file I downloaded solved the problem that I needed. However, I was sent to driverguide from a google search. How do you search for a file like usbport.sys on driverguide? I need to find this and haven't found a link or a place to search simply for a file. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

"Didn't work at all to upgrade to USB2.0 on XP with no SP1. The usbehci.sys 17.9 kb worked well! Try that before!

"Was installing chipset drivers for compaq notebook with XP (no service packs). This file was needed. I used the one here on driverguide and it seems to have worked fine. I think if you have service pack 2 this would not be an issue but I need no SP for test purposes.
