"HP Scanjet 4100 series Driver is preloaded in XP.

HP Precisionscan LT software works with XP and Scanjet 4100c.

Scanner buttons work.

Adobe 3.1 has a compatability problem with XP.

Remove any previous versions of HP scanner software first!"

"Workes good after I ran file sj653 which took care of error 2117. It wouldn't scan without this other file."

"Driver works well enough but scanner buttons don't function any more. Seems to conflict with XP WIA driver than cannot be disabled"

"The scanner operates good when used in black and white mode.

An attempt to scan in color results in an error.

I've tried many options and downloads but nothing seems to work.

Perhaps is someone out there with the same problem, but who has found a solution.

Please let me know."

"I tried to run this driver and got the following screen

16 Bit Windows Subsystem

D:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT

tHE SYSTEM FILE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR RUNNING MS DOS and Microsoft Windows applications choose "Close" to terminate the application

CLOSE IGNORE

I also get this error with the drivers downloaded from the HP sit

"Installing sj398en.exe allowed me to install my HP 4100C scanner under XP, and everything seems to be working as it was previously on a different computer with Windows 98. Brilliant! Thankyou.

I then attempted to install sj653mu.exe (as advised by Cheryl, 15 May 04) but it reported a fatal error. In my case it seems that this was not necessary."

"driver would not download,,,attempted to load for about 6 minutes, (dial up), then indicated "download complete". error codes appeared when i tried to use it.

then tried the next driver in the list and it loaded and works perfectly."

"same as sj398en.exe or nearly the same and has no effect on issue I am experiencing where the copy feature works but the scan feature does not."
