"Win98SE would not recognize this driver on the Dell computer in which the 1244TX was installed. Tried many times to no avail, even tried the card in a different socket & told the BIOS to rescan the cards."

"driver was not compatible with win2000. Win2000 did not recognize the driver. Running the driver setup program, the program did not recognize the lan card. Lan card was working minutes before under win98 and a different driver"

"It took two tries for the system a generic Intel PIII 350 to load the driver. I am not sure why. I suspect it is a Win98 system issue. The drive loaded and was stable, but would not talk to the network.

I then installed the driver into a Linux server (Mandriva Corporate Server 4). It came up on the first try and runs well."

"There was no WIN ME driver (as indicated in the description), so I cannot provide a rating.

I was looking for a driver to run under Windows ME (for the NIC I just installed). The Windows ME folder contained a single file, a text file stating I didn't need a driver for this particular NIC since it was provided in the Windows ME database. Well, it doesn't and I still n

"Friends, be aware that there were 2 drivers available of which I think the SMC1244Tx (522K) worked and the EZ1244Tx didnot. Currently the Pc is working well."

"well this zip file has got me frustrated, I can't seeme to even open the driver file or seem to find it? Am I suposed to save it to a floppy disc then install it? I'm trying to install this ethernet card(smc1244tx) I don't have a driver for it and this zip file has got me pretty confused.( I'm in the proccess of finding other drivers from different sources, hopefully they'

"This driver needs to be installed on a computer my children use. I had to reformat the hard drive because of the garbage they downloaded. My computer has Windows 2000. My frustration comes from not being able to unzip the driver on the new install of Windows 98. That computer cannot communicate with the outside world using a zipped driver."
