"Excellent! Installed & worked great! I'm glad I joined driverguide.com! I have an old Compaq Presario 1600-XL147 notebook w/c I upgraded to XP. I lost the DVD player software & could not find a driver update in the Compaq-HP website. Thank you to the uploader "TM"! Thanks driverguide.com!"

"I installed this player on my IBM thinkpad as the dvd decoder had been deleted. It was a free fix for this problem and it worked well. The Compaq player is installed but more importantly it enables Media Player to play DVD's as well."

"It worked. I had lost/corrupted my cd/dvd drivers on a Presario 2175us, and this file restored them. The problem occurred when I upgraded to WinXP SP2."

"this works on my presario 5242 that i upgraded from 98 to xp.. but it plays really slow, hopefully if i reboot it will play right.. but i can watch dvd's now... whooo hooo!!"

"You need to quit trying to force people to pay for drivers that are needed if they dont want to install the bs that comes with the driver installation. It installs viruses and it's very unclear about what exactly it is doing. Your installer is a POS in my opinion and I wouldnt recommend anyone use this site because of the attempt at installing viruses on my computer that c
