MODEM_W9XNT4.exe (2.7 MB)
I tried 6 different HSPMicroModems and all of them rebooted or locked the PC.This modem driver was the only one of them i tried that worked It was found at www.pcware.com for the 599LMR motherboards sold by TigerDirect.com. The modem works with the AMDK6/2 300MHz with 3D Now on that board. The chipset is PCTel 303L and 303D. The Extra Setting string AT&F&C1&D2&K3W1 submitted by other people was also added. PTSNOOP.exe is an included file and two antivirus detection programs reported that this is a trojan horse. However this file is packed as PTSNOOP.EX_ in case this is not a virus and something else needs it. I renamed that file on the PC to render it useless and changed the WIN.INI setting to REM lOAD = PTSNOOP.exe and the modem worked fine. This was a lot of work for a cheap modem.
