"I tried to find a driver that would help out with using the Laserjet 3100 in Windows XP SP2 environment, but found out, that it didn't function with Windows XP SP2. I would assume that it might be fully working with Windows XP SP1."

"This is the only one driver I tested that can work on my XP SP2 laptop. The driver's version is 2.0.199,while others 2.0.179 that don't work."

"I just bought an HP Media Center PC that runds XP Media. I would not allow me to install the LaserJet 3100 with my original driver disks. This one installed like a charm, it is the first time I have used this site. It seems stable, printed on the first try and I now keep my fingers crossed that all the other functionality will be there as well. Cheers, thanks."

"I am able to use the printer, but it disables Sleep Mode. If you use this driver for XP, you might need to choose between getting a different printer or giving up sleep mode. It also loads JetSuite, which you might not want in memory all the time."

"Unable to receive from HP the driver C3948-60134 for hp laserjet 3100 for WinXP(more than one year of endless unsuccessful attemps with HP Italy!!!).

The driver seems to work properly notwithstanding the "jetsuite version checker" tells me the some driver's files have invalid versions.
