"I couldn't use the driver either. I received the following error message when I tried to execute the file. "The installShield Engine (ikernal.exe) could not be installed. The system cannot find the file specified."

"I couldn't use the driver, for I actually couldn't even install the driver. The installer downloaded fine but when I opened it it wouldn't event begin, some error came up I can't recall the details of, but anyway it wouldn't start."

"Downloaded driver for my Acer 640u scanner. (Setup.exe) When I tried to run the file, it bounced at the install shield."

"Again, this driver installed "ok" but after dscanning the file then trying to run the installation, I got an error message saying that a required component (iKernel.exe) was missing. This was a useless and time consuming activity."

"This driver will NOT follow the correct file path ! Therefore it will not open ! I.E. it can NOT be used and will not work for the ACER Scan Prisa 640U ! I hope that others have better luck than I did with it !"

"Driver didn't work at all. Said it couldn't find a iKernel.dll file or something. If anyone knows where I can find a good useable recent driver for an AcerScan 640U driver that works under windows XP let me know"

"disculpen la molestia pero tengo problemas para intalar mi scanner acer scanprisa 640p porque mi sistema operativo es de windows xp si no es mucha molestia que me puedan enviar el setup.exe gracias por su ayuda"
