"After trying about a dozen different drivers for a Mustek 1200 UB scanner, found out I was missing the autoexec.nt file. It should be at c:\WINNT\System32\autoexec.nt for WIN XP. After finding the file in another location and copying it to where it was needed - I was finally able to install the driver (the others that failed before will probable install correctly now). But

not able to scan anything yet. Tried installing PhotoExpress (suggested in forum). Second time was succesful and able to scan images ever since. Able to scan using Photo Express if program is open before lifting lid of scanner - or Microsoft's document and image viewer program from scanner lid being opened before."
