This external modem is exactly as shown in the manual. it is rockwell based and I have used it on these O\S with np, w98 1st ed, 2kp, xp,p. althought at the moment in xp its seen as a rockwell (chipset) in xp using xp drivers it shows as a modem manufactured by conexant. Hope this helps
