"it says after attempting to compile and configure with /usr/sbin/hsfconfig:

"HSF drivers require a processor supporting the MMX instructions set."

and my mine is from /proc/cpuinfo:

"model name : Pentium 75 - 200"

"flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr mce cx0""

"As I am not yet proficient with Linux,its file extraction & driver/application installation, I found that after extracting and attempting to install this driver, I really stuffed up. I should have paid attention to the readme files so I'd at least have known I was downloading the wrong file. I had no problem extracting it, but obviously the installation was unsuccess

"I use a Conexant HSF 56k Data/Fax Modem (Mob WorldW SmartDAA) (rev 01)

vendor ID:Device ID [ 14f1:2443 ] on a Sony AIWA [ PCG F540 ] notebook.

This driver works exceedingly well.
