"You must be careful about which bios update you use for updating your system. It must be the bios update that was made for your specific motherboard. If it is not then there is the possibility that your system will not function properly, if even at all. You may have a SiS Chip on the motherboard, but that doesn't mean that is the SiS bios chip. "This driver package works fine. I'll admit I was worried when installing it and it said that it was a Compaq driver but I went for it anyway. Now I have a computer with SVGA video that I can use my scanner with. Thanks"

"This driver is a rom. You have to find a AMI-BIOS update in amibios.com. This is only works. For the rest, it sucks."

"Flashed my BIOS and now no computer. After flashing it rebooted and got the normal BIOS Checksum error, went to CMOS did all the settings and exited and saved, now it will not boot back up. BIOS is soldered on motherboard so cannot change it to get back into system. Motherboard shot. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS ONE. Not necessarily for all motherboards touting the SiS530 chipset

"A .ROM file is commonly used with AMI bios upgrades. A utility is available to upgrade the bios and can be downloaded at www.zida.com/download/amifl826.zip I would suggest you read the Readme.txt on the Bios update page first though (www.zida.com/support/bios.htm) Hope this helps )"

"I wish I could provide help here, but in this case I actually NEED help ( I have never come across a .rom file so I have no clue how to update the bios with it, if anyone could help, I would do anything (within reason) in return, thank you very much."
