"when I downloaded the driver, I thought it was an automatic install. However when I installed the driver, the computer crashes and is forced to restart.

It turns out that the driver the hardware required (A Samsung Branded Computer which needed a sound driver)was found in a specific inf file. After a few more tries and following directions from a text file, the driver

installed ok. I recommend this file, but be sure to follow instructions carefully. And make sure that the specified file that you want is in the zip file."
