"The system information says I'm using a SiS 7012 series audio controller - which makes sense as I'm using an SiS motherboard of some sort for AMD Duron processors - fitted with a chip using the CMI9738 codec. I tried using the other CMI9738 codec drivers on their own but they don't install at all.

The function is incomplete. HW is up and running.

Drivers are up and running, BUT completely ignored by WinXP.

It seems as if a second SW-layer is missing, connecting eg.
