"Well, I'm the one who uploaded this link and thanks for all the comments.

As this link should work for all Windows XP users, provided that it is downloaded correctly and you know how to use it, I now recently found out why so many drivers don't work in Windows XP.

It's not that the software is bad, but it conflicts with a Windows XP service. So all you have to do,

"Computer saw the scanner, but none of the scanning software would see the scanner, including the software on HP's site. I'm all ears if someone has any other options I can try to get this scanner working

"Worked great. The HP driver was 54.1 MB and still didn't make it work. This did ! Wished I'd found this sooner. Many thanks."

"This is a shortcut, not a driver. "Make sure your scanner is intalled and recognized...." If that were the case, would I be here downloading a driver?"

"When I went to XP my old drivers would not work so I down loaded this one. It worked one time and hasent worked since and I have'nt had time to check it out. Maby its my problem."
