"Drivers of this nature should include information on what updates need to be installed in order for them to function properly. I had to go to the manufacturers website and get an older version of the file for the device to function at all. I also suspect this file may be corrupt. "Worked (not like a charm) in WIN XP PRO 32-bit SP2. Would not work from scanner and camera wizard UNTIL I closed the paper port icon next to the time. Then it worked (by using the "Scanner and Camera Wizard" under start-programs-accessaries."

m trying to install it on my present computer is, the other computer was in the process of dying, and I just got tired of fighting and waiting on it. The scanner was the most efficient piece of equiptment that was attatched to it. And, it was with this driver."

"Occasionally get an error/conflict-w/WinXP message declaring that an updated file from the manufacturer is needed (HP, in this case) but have not been able to locate said file w/in HP's site. Overall, the scanner itself functions fine w/the driver."

"Ive been using Visioneer 5800 for over a year. Do I have anything good to say about this scanner. No. this is the worst scanner I have EVER owned.

Why? This software visioneer has to download isn't worth dirt. The scanner only likes to scan one time per session. So if you have to scan any documents in- you'll be ending "One-Touch" monitor for every flipping p

"I had no trouble downloading this package with GetRight5.0. People having trouble with the download were probably using some other download manager or none at all. The software itself runs smoothly. It does attempt to send scanned data to Paperview by default, a program I no longer have, but if I request a scanning from within a third party program such as Photoshop or
