"I have an SQ2500 with the 8830 version C (very rare) chipset. Drivers for XP are very bad when it comes to Aureal products and the WindowsUpdate drivers only make things worse. Though the install was someone tasking I did get them installed and everything working. Some applications had a few problems with Aureal's Wavetable as stated in the Readme but I did get good sound

"The included instructions are somewhat complicated, but still very complete. However, they call for a file named aurealgm.arl which was not included in the zipped files, so I never did go thru the installation. Perhaps the included file aurealgm.fs2 was the one needed, but it was more than I wanted to tackle without knowing I had the right files."

"did use to crrect the aureal sound card on my dell 500 running win xp pro works ok but slight problem of no soound with dial modem. works well with dsl modem. I would recommend to use if you have thye problem I had of poor qulaity and cutting out sound"

"I wouldn't recommend this driver for Win2k. During the install it looks for several files which aren't inlcudeed in the .rar file download. I beive these missing files are somewhere in XP, not Win2k.

Use this one for Win2k: wdm5_12_01_2559.exe"
