Computer on, insert installation cd, connect USBXCHANGE to ZIP 100 SCSI drive, turn drive on (ZIP disk not needed at this point), plug USBXHANGE into USB port, let Windows install search for drivers and fail, choose manual install and browse to CD drive root directory, install drivers from new installation CD which takes several minutes. USBXCHANGE adapter should be on. The new drive letter should be listed in 'Computer'. Viewing installed hardware should show the USBXCHANGE adapter installed in USB list and the ZIP 100 drive listed in Disk Drive list.

I needed this to exchange files with an old VAIO Notebook running Windows 98 and it works great. I would think that the Adaptec USB2xCHANGE can be similarly made to work with the proper drivers.
