"I downloaded this driver to run win98 (not SE!) under VMWARE with sound. It worked (unlike drivers from the Creative web site that VMWARE points you to that did NOT work. I still am unable to get sound in DOS windows under Win98 but at least I do have sound for Windows apps. Install is a bit quirky in terms of PnP identification of the card after initial install attempt

"This driver was missing a few files which were bundled with the ES1371.zip software (available on this site). I had to patch the install as it was looking for files which are not with this package."

"Downloaded, unzipped and clicked the Wizard. My Win98se didn't recognize whatever the Wizard installed. Had to access the new driver file in the folder where I saved all the unzipped files and Win installed driver correctly."
