"I ended up pulling the modem/sound card combo and installed an old Sound Blaster Pro 2 & Intel Modem into an old Packard Bell.

"This file was asked for during the install of a Riptide Combo modem/soundcard in a HP6553. To use this file, unzip it onto the hard drive (anywhere you wish... c \windows\temp is a good location) and when windows asks for the file during the driver install, browse to where it is (**OR** unzip it and burn it to a CD). This file worked great for me. Thanks."

"I just put a packard bell sound4 winmodem (by Aztech) in a computer running Win Me. It works fine, sound and modem both. I just downloaded genmidi.wsl. What do I do with it now? Does it need to be set up somehow? Or do I just copy it to a certain location on my hard drive? And where would that be?"

"Arnaud, You are an idiot. When this driver was posted there was no such thing as Windows XP. SO chances are that it wont work. BUT it never hurts to try. Oh yeah works great in win98 and winME"
