"It just doesn't work I did all that it stated to do and it updated the firmware but it didn't fix my problem. I was told that the problem was the firmware and i used this and it still didn't fix the problem. It might work for you but it didn't for me."

"this is an update of tie FIRMWARE of the drive.

update of the device bios in a way.

it is NOT THE PC DRIVER

"Couldn't tell if driver update was an improvement as it is possible that the drive itself was damaged.

Replaced drive with a Liteon SHW-160P6S--works perfectly."

"Did not proceeed because of a dire warning that the driver was for genuine LG models and did not work for OEM drives. Normally would have given it a go but the warning suggested my optical drive would become unusable!"

"Driver is a Firmware (flash BIOS) type driver for the device itself. WinXP is still having trouble installing it (Pro SP2). Only LG site that acknowledges this drive exists is in Japanese. This could get interesting, lol. Everyone I've talked to strongly recommends that XP users who have this particular model drive download the firmware update and follow the directions

"Will this driver work with the 4081B model? (I can't get Roxio 7 to burn DVD+R's with it, even though it's a Super-Multi burner.

If not, where can I get the driver for the LG 4081B?"

"The name of this download is incorrect. It is NOT the elusive and sought-after DVD-RAM driver for the LG4082B - it is just the firmware (version A206). How disappointing."

"Your site required a huge amount of time to register and I had to give my email address to you.

Your site says the file is a driver but in actualfact it is a firmware update for the DVD drive.

You are a bunch of a-holes."
