"Finally This is a driver for the card CMI8330 that really works.I tried several others here and none of the worked. You have to unzip it in a folder inside the c:\windows\system32\ and then execute devmgmt.msc and then update driver for each of the functionalities that comes with the sound card(uninstalling those who couldnt be updated, and then windows will reinstall them

"During installing of driver one file was missing (cmpci.cat). Sound of cd-player was playing but no wave files. Ok driver is ment for XP and I tried it on win98."

"you need a file called cmpci.cat as well. i found it inside another c-media download - the cmi8338. you have to unzip the above file to your hard drive and locate the cmpci.cat file in the same folder. then go into device manager and update the driver on each listed cmi8330 item. reboot after all updates and all should be ok."

"More than happy so far........installed not long ago but everything seems great. The original drivers I had on the vendors CD(W9.x) had a few volume bugs. Just happy to have it working on XP. Thanks dude !"

"I've tried this driver in Windows 98 Second Edition. It's a ZIP file. In 98 it works, but it doesnt's install the Gameport driver. :( I have to download a Win98 driver"

"This driver was only an input on how to install the cmi8330.It didnt actually install the driver to my computer. I am still needing the actual driver for the cmi8330 for my computer so I can have sound."
