"Worked on Win2k - 8220e usb - This is the driver that was on a floppy included with the cdrw... HP doesn't let you download it if you missplace the floppy (they have a usb update, but that's not the driver)"

"Windows 2000 users please note that the Adaptec Software, Easy CD Creator that came with the HP 8200i CD-Writer is NOT COMPATIBLE with Windows 2000. You DO NOT NEED to download any drivers for Windows 2000. The W2K drivers from Microsoft work just fine. My suggestion is to un-install Easy CD Creator IF YOU HAVE IT installed in Windows 2000. Hewlett-Packard (Veritas) Record

My HD died after 2 yrs. and after installing a identical new one and reloading I could not get the reinstallation of my external HP 8230e r/w to work. After 3 months of bulsh... from HP I almost gave up. This download and this site worked for me. JimS"
