"The driver was not the problem. Easy CD Creator v.5 & WinXP do not get along at all. Uninstall does not clear the registry of all components and hosed up the CD-RW. Found the answer by searching Microsoft Knowledge Base for the "Code 19" cited in Device Manager."

"Ain't a drive,just a utility with a .bin attached. When I try to use it for the Samnsung CDR I get the message "Old version open". That's all. I can't burn CDs yet."
