"I used these to install a SoundBlaster Live! card. Driver was not recognised, although I didn't have a problem installing the software."

"This badly crashed the machine on installation, where I was replacing an SBLive! I cleaned all the drivers out of the OS etc, and gave this the best chance of success, but no, it wouldn't work at all... I hate going out on a limb and trying untrusted-source software just to find it doesn't even work, and suspiciously crashes the system!

This is with my Audigy 2 Value

"I couldn't even install this - completely crashed on install, DODGY! Yes, I do know the various ways of installing device drivers...

BTW:

Why are any morons on here getting a dodgy-sourced driver for Windows XP when there's a clean, certified one available from Creative? More likely to get a virus these people are..."

"Excellent for the .wav files. Skips all over '.mp3' type files. Plugins do not help. Some midi files work. The .rmi files work. Skips all over complex higher altitude dl's.

What I mean is 128kbps. I did not try anything lower.

you might do better with a 56 or 64kbps because this driver

was designed to play "simple" content from the 8 to 16 bit ra

"It seems to be identical with the original driver which doesn't works AT ALL with Win98SE. The difference is that this one works but unfortunately it's not stable with my system so I'll look for another."

"This is a follow-up to my earlier posting. Well, I finally have sound now....but no thanks to Creative. Why they don't have stand-alone drivers, not just updates, on their website I don't know....but it stinks! Anyway, after I found a program to extract the files from this .RAR archive(use WinRaR or WinZip), everything went butter smooth and I finally have sound on my Audi

"Excellent - Bought a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 value - arrived with no CD - just the card in a static bag - it doesn't come more OEM than that !!

Creative don't host the driver from what I've read, just updates. This driver has certainly done the trick for me - it correctly identifies the card and installed without a hitch. Tried running Half Life 2 and everything sounds

"Does not appear to work for Audigy2 Value card. It would not install. (INF's only load joystick drivers.) I don't think there is a Win98 driver that will."

"I got this from someone with the actual install disc. The Audigy 2 Value card uses a different driver, and is not strictly an Audigy 2 card. It will not use kX (@#$#%!)

This works well, and I assume would for any operating system."
