"didn't seem to update the BIOS or help to recognize any of the cd rom drives, unable to IBM sucked it would be an improvement"

"Same as Neville's case. Still can not recognize MSI 48X24X48 CDRW as a CD ROM and can not boot from CD. If I add original CD ROM (Sony), BIOS recognize CD ROM, but keeps comming with system error during boot-up, and goes into setting (BIOS) every time. There is no later version of BIOS update for 2140! IBM sucks."

"This update was on I.B.M. Update server 12/15/98.Everything went OK untill I tried to install. Comp. said this code was the same as that which I had installed in 1999."

"this is an .exe file and is not a bootable file. the info says it is bootable if saved to a floppy, and it is not, says ntldr is missing."
