No additional device driver is needed for Windows 98/2000/ME/XP/NT4.0, as the default Windows device driver is used. You can check that the CD-R/RW drive has been correctly detected by Windows. To do so, proceed as follows.

Double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop.

Double-click on the Control Panel folder.

Double-click on the System icon.

Click on the Device Manager tab.

Expand the CD-ROM branch.

The SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW - *** device name is displayed.

The SAMSUNG device driver enables discs in the CD-R/RW drive to be read but not recorded in an MS-DOS environment; the driver is located in the D driver folder on the CD record utility disc. AND IT IS IN THE ZIP FILE.

How to Update SW-252F Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

  • In Windows 7, click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

  • In Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager

  • In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.
