"Have 5 year old compaq pesario 7935. cd & cdr stopped working. Opened computer found philips cd-r and model. Down loaded new drivers. Still dosen't work. Any Ideas out there that I didin't try. thanks"

"ive down loaded this twice and dont seem to work with xp pro says theres a file missing. Hope others have better luck. Personal note mine drive has a 2000 manufacturing date. If they arent going to support there products then I wont support then and will warn anyone I see looking at there products that they better not ever need any kind of support."

"cannot figure out how to use this driver. how do i install it. i get a dos type page wanting me to put in a floppy to drive a but my drive a isnt working for the same reason my burner isnt working. compaq nor philips have not provided updated drivers for their older products. maybe i should just not buy compaq or philips products in the future"

"is anyone having this problem i upgraded from windows 98 2nd edition and everythng was working fine(accept that my cdrw drive was showing up as an f drive) but now all of a sudden window xp pro keeps loosing it is this a bios problem od does the driver need to be updated?"

"Because it does not need one just update firmware,unless your running dinosour software or you need for dos.In that case i will tell you how to make your own driver.First get this file(IDE-CD.SYS)i will upload under cdd4401/71 and(mscdex.exe)that you have already in your system do a find for it.Then make a folder like so (c \cdrom )and put both in the folder.next goto star
