"This is part of 3 drives that you may need if you have a legacy system and are trying to insert a flash drive into USB. The three files are USBSTOR.SYS, usbmphlp.pdr, and USBNTMAP.SYS.I downloaded all three and onto floppy. just choose browse when asked and install from floppy, flash drive will work great."

"Another "this site saved my life!" :)

I added a LaCie pocket USB FDD to the WinME system I'm getting rid of to use in copying a few small but important files to my WinXP system. WinME wouldn't or couldn't install the driver(s) properly [and the original WinME CDs are long gone].

With the files from this site a PC guru could probably have resolved this pro

"A last ditch attempt to get my Concord Eye-Q Go camera to part with some photoes via USB. Concord's service site was a brochure site [ did a search of the word "the" to yield squat]. On all other USB storage devices- this driver allowed Win2K pro to work perfectly, get data with alacrity and dispatch [just no with Concord (No Concord drivers ever functioned)].

"Bought a wd external hd and it would not install, after downloading several drivers and pack of software from wd and talking with thier support team for 3 days. found I was missing 3 drivers, downloaded them from driverguide and the rest is history. My external hd is up and running.....Thanks"

"Download file worked but Windows ME required 3 drivers to allow the USB to install my SONY P100 camera. (USBNTMAP.SYS ,USBSTOR.SYS ,USBMPHLP.PDR) I downloaded and installed them into /WINDOWS/OPTION/CABS directory. After loading each Windows requested another file that was missing. After the last one was installed there was no error message and the Sony software worked.&qu

"I'd like to thank you for this driver and for Andy's other suggestion on how to get them from the WinME CD. Sony's installation instructions aren't too clear (DSC-707 camera). I tried both ways and both worked. You can also get it directly from the CD during installation but you have to change the path to look in the Win9x\base2.cab file instead of just the CD drive let

"I needed 3 files to get my USB Flash Drive to work and they are

USBMPHLP.PDR

usbstor.sys

usbntmap.sys

I downloaded them from Driver Guide into a file I created in My Documents.

I then copyed them and pasted them in my C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM folder

and then let the Device Manager - Update Driver Wizard do the rest

and WALA... it is working great !!!

"I tried this driver on my Windows2000 Pro (SP4) to replace the original usbstor.sys driver, and found it to work much better than the original one... which is surprising being this one is from WinME !... but the enumerating works better with this one (recognize the USB Mass Storage Device at bootup, if connected to the USB port already)... the original one didn't enumerate
