"I have Gateway Kadoka motherboard with an AMD Athlon 900 processor running Win98SE. When I try to install the drivers for the USB port, my 'puter asks for this file. I downloaded it and crashed way bad. Looking for alt' driver. I would recommend this only if it really is the driver you need"

"This driver worked GREAT! I needed it to install a USB 2.0 PCI card into my laptop that only had a built-in USB 1.1 port. I downloaded it into a miscellaneous folder in 'My Documents' and re-started the installation via 'Add New Hardware' via the Control Panel. The Wizard found it! Again, thanks so much and thanks for all of those who commented before because now I kno

"OK, I downloaded OPENHCI.SYS with no problem to my C \DOWNLOAD folder, now what? When I plug in the PCI/USB card and reboot (WIN98SE) it detects new hardware, not found on the (not in there) CD-ROM, I browse to the file in DOWNLOAD, but what do I key in to get it to actually "install", since it is not part of a CAB file? Then I get the Blue Screen of Death!, take out card

"I d/l'ed this and the other files i needed, and it says the usb ports are workig fine, but when I went to instal my printer/scanner/copyer it didnt recgnise the usb port in the list of ports. So.. now what?"

"I had the same problem as Kelby (blue screen, then only allowing me to go in safe mode). I deleted the scanner from device manager for now and am trying to find the fix. My computer now allows me to go in normal, but the scanner is not working. I read about this problem on the Microsoft site."

"Thanks, I managed to download this driver, but was then prompted to download usbd.sys, usbhub.sys, and a dll file, the name of which escapes me right now. Once complete I got "The Blue Screen"...and an error message stating "Fatal Exception error at ... NT KERN (08)... PC now only starts upo in Safe Mode. Any ideas as to how I can fix this. Cheers, Kelby"

"I can't seem to find it after I've downloaded it. I even tried to save it on disk and it isn't there either. I believe it is hiding. How do I correctly download it so I can use it???"
